What motivated you to engage in the field of education you are currently in?
In my early twenties, I was fortunate to have the chance to work alongside my mother at the same school. This unique experience had a profound impact on me and sparked a deep passion for the educational sector. It wasn't just a matter of following in my mother's footsteps or feeling obligated to continue her legacy. Instead, it was a personal realization that I genuinely wanted to be involved in this field and contribute to the growth and development of young minds. Working closely with my mother allowed me to witness firsthand the transformative power of education and the immense joy that comes from shaping the lives of students. I saw the positive impact that dedicated educators can have on individuals, families, and communities. This ignited a fire within me and instilled a strong sense of purpose to pursue a career in education. I wanted to be a part of that transformative process, to inspire and guide students on their educational journey, and to help them unlock their full potential. What initiatives or actions have you undertaken to ensure the delivery of quality education in your school?
With each passing generation, we come to realize the dynamic nature of our world. We can look back with pride at the achievements of previous generations, who accomplished great things despite a lack of access to the information revolution that defines our time. In contrast to the industrial revolution, our generation has witnessed the immense power of the information revolution, which has surpassed its predecessor in impact and influence. This recognition compels us to focus on determining the type of education that best prepares our students for the challenges and opportunities of today's rapidly changing world. In the present era, online learning has taken center stage. Students now have the ability to access subject content from various sources, as information is readily available everywhere. As a result, our emphasis must shift towards teaching students how to effectively apply, use, and analyze information within its appropriate context. The acquisition of 21st-century learning skills, such as innovation, creativity, and collaboration, has become increasingly vital. This generation of students must be adept at conducting self-directed research, enabling them to explore and learn beyond the boundaries of traditional classrooms. To align with these principles, we have established a partnership with the 'My Second Teacher' app at Galaxy School. This innovative platform has digitalized the curricula of all subjects, making them easily accessible online. Through a blended learning approach, we engage in classroom discussions that revolve around these digitalized materials. Our focus has shifted from mere content consumption to understanding and applying knowledge in relevant contexts. This pedagogical approach encourages students to think critically, solve problems creatively, and collaborate effectively.
