Could you provide examples of some of the productive activities that HISSAN Gandaki has undertaken?

Established on November 20, 2021 (Nepali date 2078 Kartik 6), HISSAN Gandaki has played a pivotal role in expanding the reach of HISSAN to previously underserved districts. Our primary mission has been to establish a strong presence in these areas and provide educational support and opportunities to students. To achieve this, we have actively organized a range of events and initiatives. One notable initiative has been the organization of futsal competitions, which have served as a platform to foster sportsmanship, teamwork, and unity among students. These competitions have not only provided a healthy and competitive environment but also promoted physical fitness and encouraged students to showcase their skills on the field. In addition to sporting events, we have also conducted various training programs in collaboration with different districts. These programs have been designed to enhance the skills and abilities of participants, covering a wide range of areas such as leadership development, communication skills, and academic excellence. Through these training, we aim to empower students and equip them with the necessary tools for personal and academic growth. To recognize and appreciate the efforts of participants, we have awarded cash prizes, certificates, and accolades to the winners. These incentives serve as a motivation for students to excel in their respective fields and strive for excellence. By actively engaging in these events and initiatives, HISSAN Gandaki has made significant contributions to the educational landscape of the region. We remain committed to our mission of expanding access to quality education and empowering students to reach their full potential. Through our continued efforts, we hope to create a positive and transformative impact on the students and communities we serve.

What is your assessment of the quality of education at the plus two level?

The private sector has been instrumental in driving the progress of the education sector in Nepal. One significant factor behind this is the adoption of international curricula in private educational institutions. By incorporating international standards and methodologies into their teaching approaches, these institutions have been able to offer a more comprehensive and globally competitive education to students. Furthermore, private educational institutions have been at the forefront of providing additional facilities and resources to enhance the learning experience. They have invested in modern infrastructure, well-equipped classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and other educational facilities. These institutions also prioritize extracurricular activities, such as sports, arts, and cultural programs, to foster holistic development among students. The inclusion of international curricula and the provision of enhanced facilities by the private sector have not only improved the quality of education but also contributed to the overall development of students. They have exposed students to a broader perspective, enabling them to acquire skills and knowledge that are in line with global standards. This, in turn, has enhanced their competitiveness in both national and international arenas. Moreover, the private sector's involvement has created healthy competition within the education sector, motivating other institutions, including public ones, to strive for excellence. It has raised the bar for educational standards, curriculum design, and teaching methodologies, benefiting students across the country. While the private sector's contributions have been significant, it is important to ensure that access to quality education is available to all segments of society. Efforts should be made to bridge the gap between private and public institutions, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds have equal opportunities to receive a high-quality education.

The results of plus two students are degrading day by day. What Gandaki HISSAN's take on this observation?

The inclination towards studying abroad is rapidly growing, posing a significant concern that requires the attention of both individuals and the government. While the desire to pursue education overseas is on the rise, it is essential to recognize that Nepal also houses several prestigious colleges offering international education. These institutions provide high-quality academic programs that are on par with global standards, ensuring students receive an enriching educational experience. However, the increasing trend of seeking education abroad emphasizes the need for the government to focus on enhancing the domestic education system to retain talent and provide competitive opportunities for students within the country. It is crucial to create an environment that encourages the development of top-notch colleges and institutes, enabling students to receive world-class education without having to go abroad. By investing in the growth and improvement of educational institutions, Nepal can retain its bright minds and contribute to the overall progress of the nation.

Finally, what message do you wish to convey to students?

The utmost importance lies in students making informed choices regarding their subject selection in plus two. It is crucial for them to consider their personal interests, passions, and career aspirations when deciding which subjects to pursue. By aligning their choices with their individual strengths and aspirations, students can lay the foundation for a more fulfilling and successful academic journey. Furthermore, when it comes to selecting a college for further studies, students should approach the decision with mindfulness and careful deliberation. Factors such as the college's reputation, accreditation, faculty expertise, available resources, curriculum offerings, and support systems should be carefully considered. Thorough research, campus visits, and seeking guidance from professionals can assist students in making well-informed choices that align with their academic and career objectives.
