In the current landscape, the education sector faces numerous uncertainties, notably the recently enacted Education Act. Shaped by political leaders with diverse perspectives on private education, this legislation has left investors pondering whether to venture into private education. Consequently, individuals possessing a profound understanding of educational policies, substantial professional experiences, and innovative educational models should assume leadership roles. The HISSAN leader must navigate the entire education system, fostering collaboration with the government, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions while unifying educators.

A significant challenge is the increasing number of recent +2 graduates seeking education abroad, often leading to extended gaps before pursuing higher education in Nepal. This trend diminishes university enrolment, emphasizing the need to create an environment that integrates learning and earning. To retain students in Nepal, HISSAN must recognize the importance of providing practical, application-based education. Students seek financial independence, and facilitating work opportunities alongside studies addresses their daily needs and challenges.

A transformative mindset is essential for guiding the education system, emphasizing the leader’s role in understanding, conveying, and persuading stakeholders to formulate necessary plans and policies. To counter brain drain, efforts should focus on brain gain, aligning education with practical application to address familial and financial concerns.
