Currently, there is a noticeable decline in the inclination of students to pursue their studies in Kathmandu following the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). What are your thoughts on this shift in trend?

In accordance with the government's classification, school education encompasses the period up to the plus two level, typically involving students ranging in age from 17 to 18 or even younger. However, a notable shift has been observed in recent years as there has been a decline in the trend of students pursuing education in Kathmandu, particularly at the plus two level. One significant factor contributing to this decline is the escalating costs associated with studying in the capital city. Kathmandu is known for its higher living expenses, including accommodation, transportation, and overall cost of living. These financial burdens place a considerable strain on students and their families who may find it challenging to afford the expenses associated with studying in the valley. Concerns about safety, security, and unfamiliarity in Kathmandu contribute to the decreasing preference for studying there. Students recognize the availability of quality education and affordability in their hometowns. Rising costs and the assurance of a good education influence the decision to study locally.

Many students encounter a state of perplexity when it comes to selecting their field of study following the completion of the SEE. In light of this, what suggestions would you propose for students to make an informed decision and choose the most advantageous course that aligns with their academic and future career aspirations?

After the completion of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE), students are faced with various course options to choose from, such as Science, Management, Humanities, and Law. However, within the 'Gorkha Group' educational institution, currently only the Science and Management faculties are offered. When deciding on their field of study, it becomes crucial for students to take into account their individual interests and aspirations. Choosing the right course of study entails considering several factors. One of the key considerations is the financial circumstances of their families.
