The ongoing 6th HISSAN Kathmandu convention spotlights the critical attributes essential for a president. Paramount among these is the capacity to cultivate unity among members spanning diverse districts. The prospective president is expected to possess clear visions, well-articulated plans, and a showcase of comprehensive knowledge. Effective leadership is underscored by the need for coordination not only with municipal units but also with the central government.

A significant focal point is the current concern surrounding the proposed education Act by the parliament. While discussions on various topics are underway at the central government level, active participation from the HISSAN leader is imperative in amending these Acts, with a thorough analysis of their merits and drawbacks. Additional pressing issues encompass insecurity in educational properties, a decline in higher education enrollment, the establishment of a conducive learning environment, and the escalating trend of student migration abroad. In the Nepalese context, election periods often witness individuals vying for positions without merit. Despite this, HISSAN lacks a provision for conducting elections, relying instead on collective decision-making through discussions and approvals from all members. Operating as a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of private units and their coordination with the government, HISSAN is committed to operating without political influence or external pressures. The emphasis lies in progressing collectively, and if the need arises to select from multiple candidates, a democratic approach may be adopted.

HISSAN Kathmandu makes the Central HISSAN stronger. All our candidates are deserving and eligible for leadership. The members who cannot make their way in this convention, will surely excel in the Provincial and Central HISSAN. In this regard, the chosen leader should be able to provide academic guidance to colleges and universities, facilitate them with better curricula, add more members to expand the network of HISSAN.
