Nepal Academy of Tourism & Hotel Management (NATHM) was established in 1972 AD by the Government of Nepal with the technical assistance of the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) and International Labour Organization (ILO). The major aim of NATHM is to produce a skilled workforce required by the hospitality and tourism industry, NATHM previously known as HMTTC. Since its establishment, the Academy is playing a key role in developing the human resources for this industry with the aim of enhancing the level of quality in tourism and hospitality services in Nepal and around the world. It has been providing craft and supervisory levels of skill-oriented training to cater to the demands of this particular sector. This pioneer institution id renowned for generating qualified workforce for the ever-increasing demands of the Hospitality & Tourism Sector.
The NATHM is guided by the Board of Directors chaired by Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation including the representatives of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN), Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN) Ministry of Finance, and National Planning Commission (NPC), Department of Labor and Employment Promotion. It also has strong support from government and donor agencies.
