About College
The Kantipur College of Management and Information Technology (KCMIT) has been set up in Kathmandu under Tribhuvan University new direction to enter into collaboration with the private education sector to provide the most advanced technical education to the Nepalese students. Presently, KCMIT runs the Bachelor of Information Management (BIM) program and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program in affiliation with Tribhuvan University. BIM is a blend of management and IT and BBA is a modern management course with IT application.

BBA program provides an interdisciplinary education for students interested in Management and ICT, with major focus in management. BBA program helps the students learn modern business theory and principles; and execute them into the practical field. It helps to acquire knowledge in the fields of business, including management, international business, marketing, business law, accountancy, finance, economics, and knowledge management, and apply these skills to different business environments. With the modern advancement in the field of Information and Communication Technology, it also helps students align and integrate the information technologies in the modern business processes to attain the organizational efficiency. BIM program provides an interdisciplinary education for students interested in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Management, with major focus in ICT. Graduates from this program will have the knowledge and skills to develop business information systems, analyze and design databases, develop network Internet applications, and have a sound understanding of the business processes. The emphasis is on skills development in programming information system projects. Additionally BIM also provides students with an understanding of the principles and operations of business, and the importance of the computer as a management tool through planning, control, and decision-making activities of the organization. Students intending to study in this program should have a strong interest in information technology, ability to think logically and creatively and an aptitude for data analysis and information-based decision making. BIM program being in the semester system, the student has to be a continuous learner and a good team player. |
