New regulations for students planning to study in Australia

The Australian Government's Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs has recently modified certain regulations for international students. A fresh regulation has been introduced for those pursuing higher education starting from 23rd March 2024.

One significant change is the requirement for students intending to study to submit the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) earlier. It is now stipulated that the genuine student (GS) submission must be made by 23 March 2024. This adjustment aims to ensure that students provide all necessary documentation promptly.

Previously, students were obligated to compose a 300-word statement in the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) explaining their chosen course, motivation for studying, and financial circumstances. However, under the updated guidelines, students will undergo questioning. A decision regarding visa approval will be based on the veracity of their responses.

Queries will delve into the students' current circumstances, family ties, societal connections, employment status, financial stability, support for their chosen course, familiarity with their field of study, reasons for selecting Australia, as well as reflections on their past and aspirations for the future.
